A new report from the UN was recently released stating that world hunger is on the rise: the estimated number of undernourished people increased from 777 million in 2015 to 815 million in 2016.  There is overwhelming evidence that the end of world hunger cannot be achieved if gender inequality persists. Women bear the major responsibility for meeting basic needs, yet are systematically denied the resources, freedom of action and voice in decision-making to fulfill that responsibility.
